Housing Support (Formerly: GRH)
Credent Care’s Housing Support Program is designed to assist individuals with low income, disabilities, or other qualifying conditions in covering the cost of room and board at approved housing facilities. This program provides a vital lifeline to those who may not qualify for other assistance programs, such as MA-Waiver or personal care assistance, helping them maintain safe and stable living environments.
Who We Help
Our Housing Support Program serves a diverse range of individuals, including:
-
Adults with disabilities or chronic conditions
-
Seniors aged 65 or older
-
Individuals who are unable to work due to medical or mental health challenges
To qualify for the Housing Support Program, applicants must have a General Assistance (GA) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) basis of eligibility and live in a Housing Support-authorized setting. Even those who do not receive GA or SSI may still be eligible based on income and asset limits.
Program Features
-
Room and Board Assistance
Housing Support helps cover monthly room and board expenses, allowing individuals to access affordable living accommodations. This can be especially beneficial for those residing in licensed assisted living, integrated community support, or Community residential services. -
Supportive Services
In some cases, Housing Support can also cover additional services for individuals who are not eligible for other assistance programs. These services are tailored to meet the needs of the individual, ensuring a comprehensive support system. -
Application Guidance
Credent Care offers guidance throughout the Housing Support application process, helping clients navigate the requirements and providing support in identifying Housing Support-authorized locations.
Eligibility and Income Guidelines
To be eligible for the Housing Support Program, individuals must meet specific financial and situational criteria, including:
-
Having assets below $10,000
-
Meeting income limits that vary depending on the level of room, board, and services required
-
Living in a location that is authorized by the Housing Support program Income from various sources is considered, but Housing Support does not count all forms of income, such as tribal per capita income starting in 2024. If your income exceeds program limits, there are still avenues through which you may qualify.
